5W - general pictures

Some of these pics were taken with my iPhone so the quality of the pics is not always the most crisp.

I also tried to add them in a collated sequence but Google's blogger just adds them any old way.

Anyway - some general pics.

5W - OUTSIDE view

This is the campground at Newport Beach where the beach is on your doorstep - almost literally.

The vehicle is currently located in the greater Los Angeles area.

This is a 2004 year model.

This 40ft vehicle has 4 slide outs, making it a virtual condo on wheels.

Note the rolled up canopy which unfurls into a large canopy for shade.

There are 4 slideouts on this 5W.

There are 3 slideouts on one side of the 5W - bed, dining room, and sofa slideouts - and one slideout on the other side (which holds the entertainment center in the sitting room).

There is also a "basement" that stretches completely across the front of the vehicle from one side to the other. The basement has 3 doors for access - one on the left side of the 5W, one on the right side, and one in the front (as you can see in the picture). The basement provides an enormous amount of storage space.

This 40ft vehicle is an OPEN ROAD model made by Pilgrim International. It was made in 2004 - so it is 4 years old.

The Pilgrim International company is owned by the CEO who sold his other recreational vehicle company that he previously founded and ran for 20 years. When he sold the company, he founded Pilgrims.

This 5W is beautifully constructed and has been meticulously maintained.

5 wheel LAYOUT

This is the layout of this 40 foot vehicle, commonly known as a Fifth Wheel (5W).

The vehicle is divided into 3 distinct areas:
1) The back area is the sitting room
2) The middle section is the kitchen, dining room, and seating
3) The front section has the bathroom, bedroom, toilet, and washer/drier.

The 5W has a satellite dish fitted on the roof and picks up The DISH. If you want "the other satellite - Direct TV" then the contraption can be reconfigured by the manufacturer to pick up the other. It is easy to program whenever you move - in a few simple steps just type in your new zip code and the satellite dish automatically revolves to pick up The Dish with its new azimuth.

There are 3 TVs, one in each section. They have been deliberately connected together so that once you select a channel then all 3 TVs show the same channel as you move throughout the 5W - and you don't miss a moment of your favorite show.

This gorgeous 5W has expensive designer furnishings, fittings, and accessories.

5W - front section

This is the front section of the 5Wheel containing, as you look forward:

a) the toilet which is the first door on the left
b) the washer/dryer which is the second door on the left
c) the bathroom area with jacuzzi on the right
d) the bedroom straight ahead
e) the full length closet which is directly ahead and hidden behind the curtaining.

This is a Jacuzzi (not spa bath).
The Jacuzzi water heater was added in order to heat the water to the desired temperature.

There is also a separate on/off switch on the heater so that if the water gets too hot, you can manually turn off the heater.

The faucet for the Jacuzzi also has a shower extension so that the tub also retained the ability to have a shower.
The shower extension fits into a holder that projects from the curtain rail.

The cupboard in the background is very useful for storing any bathroom or personal supplies.

There is a swing mirror above the handbasin with normal and magnified view.

You can also partially see the mounted holder on the back wall that holds various soaps, towels, hand towels, salts, etc.

Reorienting yourself in the hallway, you see the two doors on the left. The first door is the toilet which also has a large full-length mirror.

This is inside the toilet space. You are looking into the full length mirror with the jacuzzi behind you reflected in the mirror. Note the red cupboard above the toilet that provides additional storage.

The second door holds the front loading washer/dryer.

Reorieting yourself in the hallway, you see the bedroom ahead. The same fabric is used throughout the 5W to maintain continuity thru all 3 spaces.
The headboard is padded in a complementary fabric with matching pillows.

To the right of the bed is the double closets behind the drapes, which easily swing open on a pull.

The dresser at the foot of the bed also houses the 3rd TV which is linked into the other 2 TV's.
The dresser provides more storage space.
